Which photos work best for the Tiny Desk AI video?

One clear face per person, facing the camera, from the chest up, in even light. The lead singer's photo matters most, because the close-up fills the screen. JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 25 MB each.

Works best

  • Face toward the camera, eyes visible, chest up.
  • Even daylight or indoor light, no strong shadow across the face.
  • A recent photo: the video keeps your hair and clothes from it.
  • For a group photo, everyone's face clear and not tiny.

Avoid

  • Sunglasses, masks, hands over the face.
  • Heavy beauty filters: the video copies the filtered face.
  • Tiny faces in wide shots, or blurry and dark photos.
  • Photos of people who didn't agree, or of public figures.

What the video can't change

The desk, the records and the red keyboard stay as in the meme; only the five people change. The free preview is about 3 seconds of the close-up, and the full video is made again from the same photos, so small details can differ. Doesn't look like you? See why faces change.
